Hey everyone! I’m excited to share this new promo film I directed for a book called Stories of Enchantment. The book features sonnets inspired from various fairy tales, written by Jessa R. Sexton. In this film, Jessa stars and narrates one of her sonnets as we bring it to life on the screen.

This film was a unique challenge because I haven’t shot a sort of mysterious piece like this before. I have also been experimenting A LOT more with my color, which led to giving this piece a bit of an otherworldly palette composed of blues, greens, and orangish-reds. I would also like to mention that I did the music for this film as well!

I’m really proud of how this came out and I believe it truly captures more of my directorial style. Jessa essentially gave me free reign over how to interpret her sonnet and I’m really happy it came out well. So watch it above and enjoy!

  • Jafra “Much Needed Me-Time” – NEW COMMERCIAL

Hey everyone! I’m back with a brand new commercial! This one is for Jafra’s Royal Jelly  Ritual skin care line for women. It’s one of their more high-end skin care lines that is designed to make your skin look super healthy and young.

This commercial started out originally as an entirely different concept. The idea was to have our main woman (played by Amber Bartlett) seemingly walk from location to location within the screen, using some old-school practical effects and editing. This got scrapped though when Amber broke her hand in the middle of production! I still needed to compete this commercial though so we went back to the drawing board and came up with a new plan that would accommodate her injury.

This commercial was a prime example of life throwing you a curve ball during filming. Being a director often means having to change your original plans, being flexible, being willing to throw it all away and start fresh. It’s problem-solving on a higher level , requiring you to pivot to keep it from all falling apart. And hey – sometime it does fall apart, especially when so much is out of your control. But you still try your best to find a new way to make it happen. I am very happy to say that we DID make it happen!

So check out the commercial below and let me know what you think in the comments below! Thanks!

  • Dallas Cowboys “Home Away From Home” – NEW COMMERCIAL

Commercials, Feature Article, Original FilmComments Off on Dallas Cowboys “Home Away From Home” – NEW COMMERCIAL

I’m really excited to FINALLY show off a new commercial I did for the Dallas Cowboys called “Home Away From Home”. This piece is special because it was officially picked up by the Cowboys and played at some of their games! It is my first major commercial purchased by a national company – something I’m quite proud of. It was completed back in December but I just got permission to show it online for you guys.

The Dallas Cowboys wanted a documentary-style short film that highlighted real female fans of the Dallas Cowboys. They weren’t looking for stereotypical bullshit like a woman cooking all the food for the boys on game day, wearing pink jerseys and having no clue what happens in a football game. No, they wanted real women who were into the game and love the sport entirely. Thankfully, I knew of such a woman – Zulma, a woman who grew up in Texas but moved out to the Nashville area. She had a great story about becoming a Dallas Cowboys fan and how the team brings her closer to her family back in her hometown. I knew she would be the perfect choice fort his piece – and obviously, the Dallas Cowboys agreed!

So check out the film above and let me know what you think!

  • “Life Moves Fast” – NEW COMMERCIALS for Sony RX100 IV

    Soccer - Sony Commercial SCREENSHOT

Alright, so here we’ve got TWO new commercials I did for Sony, promoting their RX100 IV cameras that can do some crazy high framerate stuff. I was able to shoot super high framerate footage of soccer, candles being blown out and balloons popping. I recorded these at 960 frames per second – 40 times the normal speed. It was, by far, the highest frame rate I’ve ever shot in. I ran into some initial problems with my lights; the frame rate was so high that it captures the cycle of electricity fluctuating in the bulbs! This can’t be seen by the naked eye but the camera picked it up. Thankfully, I had some LED lights that did not alternate currents.

What’s interesting is that this camera does 960 fps AND 4k resolution in a point-and-shoot body. It’s a bit pricey at the moment but when it comes down, it would be a nice buy for those that go to a lot of events, concerts, etc.

It’s also worth mentioning that I got to do a voiceover for this project, which was really fun. Anyway, enough about the technical stuff. Check out the commercials below:

  • “New Way to PB&J” – NEW COMMERCIAL for Welch’s Graham Slam

    On November 23, 2015 • By

Hi everyone! Remember a while ago when I told you I had been filming several new commercials? Well here is one of them. It’s a little 30-second thingy I did for Welch’s to help promote their new Graham Slam product. It’s a music video-type commercial, which I personally loved doing because I jump at any project that allows me to record/play music. So I came up with a garage rock jingle and filmed some badass kids jamming out to it. The idea was it make it colorful, energetic and contagious.

Click play above and watch it! Share it! Cherish it! Marry it! Whatever you wanna do!
