In Memoriam

Noted screenwriter and director Nora Ephron has sadly passed away at the age of 71 from complications for a treatment for leukemia. She was also a noted essaying, playwright, novelist and journalist. She was famous for writing memorable and edgy romantic comedies that featured strong and interesting characters, especially in regard to female leading roles.

As a screenwriter, Nora Ephron wrote Silkwood and When Harry Met Sally and received Oscar nominations for both films. She went on to write and direct Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, Michael and most recently Julie and Julia, which earned Meryl Streep a best actress Oscar nomination in 2010.
